Confidentiality and Telehealth Consent
Confidentiality
At Reset Room LLC, we take your privacy seriously. When you contact us through our website forms or email, please be aware that standard email and website forms are not fully secure methods of communication. For this reason, we ask that you avoid including sensitive clinical information in initial messages.
Once you become a client, all your protected health information is governed by HIPAA and our separate Notice of Privacy Practices, which will be provided to you during the intake process.
Limits of Confidentiality
As required by law and professional ethics, there are limits to confidentiality. I am required to break confidentiality if:
-
There is suspected child abuse or neglect
-
There is suspected abuse of a vulnerable adult or elder
-
You present a serious threat of harm to yourself or others
Emergency Support
Reset Room LLC provides telehealth services only and is not an emergency service provider.
If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, please do not use this website or email. Instead:
📞 Call 911 immediately
📞 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline: Call or text 988
📞 Crisis Text Line: Text HOME to 741741
If you are in crisis during a telehealth session, your therapist will work with you to connect you with appropriate emergency resources in your area

Telehealth Consent
As a practice dedicated exclusively to online therapy, I want you to feel confident and informed about this method of care. Prior to your first session, you will receive a Telehealth Informed Consent Form that covers:
-
Confidentiality & Security: How I use HIPAA-compliant platforms to protect your information and the steps you should take to ensure your own privacy during sessions.
-
Risks & Limitations: An honest discussion of potential challenges, including technical difficulties, the limits of remote assessment, and what to do if technology fails during a session.
-
Emergency Protocols: Clear instructions on how to handle a mental health emergency, including the fact that telehealth is not appropriate for crisis situations and you should call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.
-
Your Responsibilities: Your role in creating a private, distraction-free space and verifying your identity and location for each session.
This consent process is not just a formality—it's an ongoing conversation. I welcome your questions and want you to feel fully prepared to engage in therapy from the comfort and convenience of your own space.
